City Manager David L. Bolling began his position on June 3, 2013.  He and wife Jennifer, son Carter and daughter Caroline are returning to this area after spending a year in Newcastle, Maine where he served as the Town Administrator.  Prior to moving to Newcastle he served as the City Manager of Oliver Springs for six years and on the Anderson County Commission for four years.

Mr. Bolling was exposed to the importance of public service by his father who spent 20 years as the County Executive in Anderson County and chose his words, “If you want to make things better, roll up your sleeves and pitch in,” as a guide for his own career.  He has 10 years of both public and private sector management experience and plans to be responsive to the needs of citizens and to be responsible for the utilization of the resources they provide.  His skills include the ability to work with individuals of all backgrounds.  He is accustomed to multi-tasking and is effective at delegating responsibility and holding individuals responsible for assigned tasks.
